Copies to hand out

This book was built to move between people. Bulk is the way it does that.

It's short, it's cheap, and it needs no explanation attached. That's all deliberate. The paperback is priced below the point where a purchase becomes a deliberation, precisely so that somebody who reads it can buy another copy without thinking twice and put it in somebody's hands.

If you want twenty, or two hundred, that's not a special case. It's the intended one.

Who orders in bulk, and why

A group that's already reading together.

A book club, a study circle, a group of parents, a congregation, a team. Six people with the same text in front of them is the smallest unit the book argues for, and it's the one that actually works.

A business owner who wants their people to have it.

Not as a training exercise and not as a corporate values programme. The book would be poor at both. As a text that people can read, disagree with, and talk about.

Somebody who intends to give it away.

A box in a hallway that slowly empties.

What you can have on it

The standard book

Premium trade paperback on white 70gsm stock, printed to order through Manolutions Publishing and IngramSpark. It's a better object than the standard Amazon paperback.

Or your own edition of it

  • A custom first page. A message from you, to whoever opens it.
  • Your own foreword.
  • Your own branded cover, with its own ISBN. A distinct edition of the book, registered as yours.

The more of that you want, the more there is to make. Worth knowing before you pick a date.

You can also have it carry your name without a new edition: a printed insert or a bookplate, so it arrives as something you gave rather than something you bought.

Direct ordering means a better price than a retail run of the same size, because bulk copies are priced from print cost rather than from the retail list.

Questions people ask

How many is bulk?
From a dozen copies upward. Below that, Amazon is faster and cheaper for you.
How long does it take?
Two different jobs, and the gap between them is wide. A straight run of the standard book takes 48 hours to 5 business days to print depending on the options, then 2 to 4 business days to deliver. Your own edition, with a custom cover and its own ISBN, adds 24 to 48 hours to register it and up to 72 hours for a proof. After that what moves the date is your side: how fast you approve the proof and give the go.
Is there a price break?
Yes, and there's no published scale because we'd be inventing it. Volume moves shipping a lot and the per-book print cost slightly. The real number comes out of the print system against your actual quantity and destination, at the time you order.
Can we put our own cover on it?
Yes. A custom first page, your own foreword, or a fully branded cover registered under its own ISBN as a distinct edition. Say which on the form.
Where do you ship?
Worldwide. Print and fulfilment run through IngramSpark, so the run is printed close to where it's going rather than shipped across an ocean. We ship premium only. The standard service takes up to ten days and doesn't appear to include tracking, and we'd rather know where your books are.
How soon will somebody reply?
Within one business day, and usually faster. Time zones and public holidays are real, so occasionally it's a day either side, but one business day is the standard we hold ourselves to, not a ceiling we hide behind.
